MEDINA, Minn. – Indian Motorcycle Company is recalling certain 2020 model year Indian Scout Bobber Sixty motorcycles which might have a non-operative rear-brake light following a reprogramming of its electronic-control unit (ECU).
In addition, the 177 motorcycles covered in the recall (with approximately two percent affected by the issue) might also have the ECU shutdown after said reprogramming.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Part 573 Safety Recall Report 21V-681, the reprogramming or reflash of the ECU may result in the incorrect loading of “memory objects” into the ECU because the incorrect memory objects were initially loaded into the Indian dealer service-tool database from which the reflash was performed.
